ABOUT
We are proud to be one of the few Ambulatory Surgery Centers to be both certified and licensed by the State of Texas and AAAASF. AAAASF accreditation is the gold standard in American medical facility accreditation. When a facility obtains and maintains this accreditation, patients know that their safety is paramount and that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure the operating facility is properly equipped and maintained for their procedures.
Cypress Surgicare of Texas is a state-of-the -art Ambulatory Surgery Center that is licensed by the Texas Department of State Health. State licensure means the safety equipment and infrastructure within Cypress Surgicare of Texas far exceeds the requirements of most accredited aesthetic surgical facilities. Our ambulatory surgery center only works with Board-Certified Anesthesiologists and Surgeons, registered nurses, medical technicians, professionally trained in recovery and surgical care.
AAAASF places patient safety at the core of its mission. AAAASF’s overriding focus is to mitigate untoward events through preparedness.
AAAASF accomplishes this goal by requiring 100 percent compliance with all standards. The standards include requirements for written protocols, procedural “blueprints”, conditions and essential elements. The standards cover the surgical environment and physical plans of the operating suite. Provisions encompass emergency evacuation of a patient to a hospital, fire protection, intruders, power failures and temperature controls. Other standards define equipment necessary for anesthesia, the operating room and the recovery room. There are protocols for instrument sterilization and patient monitoring in both preoperative and postoperative as well as cleaning the facility to ensure sanitary conditions.

AAAASF standards mandate the presence of necessary personnel for all procedures. Physicians must be board certified by a recognized certifying board and are required to possess hospital privileges for each procedure performed within the AAAASF Accredited Facility. Nursing and all medical personnel must be trained in hazard safety, blood-borne pathogens, universal precautions and must hold either basic life support or advanced cardiac life support certifications. A physician be immediately available, until the patient is discharged.
AAAASF accreditation ensures that facilities function at a high standard. In review of over 20 million procedures, data demonstrates that AAAASF accredited facilities are at least as safe as hospitals and licensed ASC’s and perhaps even safer. Without question, AAAASF is the gold standard in accreditation.
